This compilation includes 20 tracks of bands and solo artists who, through their enthusiastic live concerts, have contributed over the recent years to give KAFFEE BURGER its quite unique and cosmopolitan character. Beyond the mainstream, breaking barriers, the track-list follows the musicians of very differing origins along new and untrodden trails, referring to the widest range of musical roots and featuring twelve different languages altogether.

	JIM AVIGNON aka NEOANGIN Skizzenhaft wie sein Leben ist auch seine Musik. Songs wie Momentaufnahmen, eingespielt auf dem Bett eines Hotelzimmers oder dem Rücksitz eines Autos, sparsam instrumentiert mit Keyboard und Beatbox und JIM AVIGNONs markanter Stimme darüber. Melodien zwischen labiler Fröhlichkeit und aufgekratzter Schwermut, Geschichten über Glück und Unglück und Leute auf der Suche nach irgendwas.	JIM AVIGNON aka NEOANGIN As sketchy as his life is his music. The songs are like snapshots, recorded on hotel beds or in the back-seats of cars, frugally instrumented with keyboard and beatbox over which is recorded JIM AVIGNON’s most distinctive voice. 	ROTFRONT Sozusagen die Hausband des KAFFEE BURGER. Ende 2001 entschlossen sich der Russendisko-DJ Yuriy Gurzhy und der ungarische Musiker Simon Wahorn eine Band zu gründen. Bereits mit ihrem ersten Konzert erklärte die Band langweiliger Pseudoweltmusik den Krieg. ROTFRONT spielen eine einzigartige Mischung aus ungarischem Rock’n’Roll, Gipsy - Musik, sowjetischem Easy Listening, Reggae, Ska, Klezmer und HipHop. At the end of 2001, DJ Yuriy Gurzhy from Russendisko (Russian disco) and the Hungarian musician Simon Wahorn decided to found a band. Their very first concert was a declaration of war on boring pseudo ‘world music’. ROTFRONT play a unique mix of Hungarian rock’n’roll, gipsy music, Soviet easy-listening, reggae, ska, clezmer and hip-hop. Their cover version of Kraftwerk’s classic "Die Roboter" (“The Robots”) is legendary.

	PLAN 9 Handgemachter südkalifornischer Instrumental - Rock'n'Roll (Surf), garniert mit einer kleinen, aber feinen Bläsersektion (Saxophon / Trompete). Inspiriert durch Ed Woods berüchtigten Film „Plan 9 from Outer Space” (1958), geht die Berliner Band auf einen Trip durch Sci-Fi-Country, Horror-Rock'n'Roll und Space-Twist. www.plan9.tv	PLAN 9 Handmade South Californian instrumental rock’n’roll (surf) garnished with a nice little brass section (sax / trumpet). 	ALCOHOL FINO Latin Rock, Ska, Reggae sowie Afrolatino- und Funk-Elemente sind die Hauptzutaten für die Musik von ALCOHOL FINO, derzeit bestehend aus acht Musikern aus Spanien, Kolumbien, Japan, Argentinien, Uruguay und Venezuela. 	TRABAND Gegründet 1995 in Prag sind TRABAND heute international bekannt für ihre sehr lebendige und energetische Verbindung verschiedener Folk - Traditionen aus aller Welt mit modernen Elementen aus Rock, Ska, Punk und Reggae. 	P.R.KANTATE Völlig vorurteilsfrei kreuzt P.R.KANTATE Berliner Slang mit jamaikanischem Patois und Reggae oder Oldschool HipHop mit NDW - Beats in einer markanten, bunten Mischung, über Stilgrenzen und Szenegräben hinweg. 	GIPSY Derzeit wahrscheinlich das größte Talent in der tschechischen Musik - Szene. 	CHICO TRUJILLO Gegründet 1998 in Villa Alemana / Zentralchile von Aldo Asenjo alias „Macha“ und Antonio Orellana. Ihre Einflüsse reichen von traditioneller chilenischer Musik über Cumbia zu Ska und Reggae. 	DIKANDA Die Vorliebe für traditionelle Musik und intensive Arbeit haben die Band aus Szczecin / Polen zu ihrem ganz eigenen Stil geführt. Ihre Lieder sind stark von orientalischer Kultur und Balkan-Folklore beeinflusst. Der Name der Band, einem afrikanischen Dialekt entnommen, bedeutet „Familie“. 	CITIZENS INTERNATIONAL Gegründet 2003 in Berlin von Lars Wickinger und Michael Skelton. CITIZENS INTERNATIONAL kombinieren elektronische Sounds mit Indie-Pop - Elementen und HipHop. Sie beanspruchen weder, den Rock’n’Roll neu erfunden zu haben, noch versuchen sie, wie eine Punkrockband der späten 70er daherzukommen. Sie machen ihr eigenes Ding. SITCOM WARRIORS Right from the beginning, the SITCOM WARRIORS have managed to create a distinguishable sound of their own. 	MAKALA Mikel Unzurrunzaga Schmitz alias MAKALA ist ein baskischer DJ, Produzent, Bassist und Sänger. 	MESSER CHUPS Oleg Gitarkin gründete MESSER CHUPS 1998 als Nebenprojekt der Band MESSER FÜR FRAU MÜLLER. Inzwischen das Hauptprojekt von Gitarkin, lebt er hier sein Faible für B-Movies von Ed Wood bis Russ Meyer aus. Surf-Beats, sowjetische Analog-Synthesizer und russischer Gesang machen die Band zu einer Art Adams Family der russischen Electronic- Szene. www.solnzerecords.com	MESSER CHUPS Oleg Gitarkin founded the band in 1998 as a side project of MESSER FÜR FRAU MÜLLER. Since then, MESSER CHUPS has become Gitarkin’s main project within which he nourishes his predilection for B-movies ranging from Ed Wood to Russ Meyer. Surf beats, Soviet analogue synthesizers and Russian vocals make MESSER CHUPS a kind of Adams Family within the Russian electronic scene.

	PETTING Der französisch-englische Beat-Pop des Quintetts huldigt seinen Wurzeln im Rock’n’Roll, Garagen- und aufkeimenden Punk-Sound der 60er und 70er Jahre – doch mit eindimensionaler Retrospektive haben PETTING nichts am Hut. 	POZA sind Alec Kopyt und Leonid Soybelman. Ihr Repertoire ist beeinflusst von Straßenmusik osteuropäischer und kleinasiatischer Großstädte. Ihr rastloses Leben spiegelt sich in den Texten, die von Liebe, Sex, Spiel-, Drogen- und anderen Süchten handeln, von der Leere des menschlichen Lebens, Neid, Eitelkeit und Wahnsinn. Trotzdem sind ihre Lieder voller Lebensfreude. POZA greifen auf Musikstile wie Klezmer, Hasapiko, Tsifteteli, Kalamatianos, Rembetika oder Tziganochka zurück.	POZA are Alec Kopyt and Leonid Soybelman. Their repertoire is made up of street songs from the big cities of Eastern Europe and Asia-minor. Their erratic way of life is reflected in the lyrics, which speak of love, sex, gambling, drugs and other addictions; of the emptiness of human life, of envy, vanity and madness. Despite these themes, the mood of the songs is one of joy and vitality. POZA draws on such musical styles as clezmer, hasapiko, tsifteteli, kalamatianos, rembetika or tziganochka.

	BANDA VELENO Die aktuelle Band von Michele Veleno. Ehemals Gitarist der Lolitas um Francoise Cactus kehrt er mit einer Mischung aus Surf, Rock’n’Roll, Soul und einem dezenten Hauch italienischer Folklore zurück. Mit dem Berliner Chris Dietermann am Bass und seinem italienischen Landsmann Nico Lippolis am Schlagzeug hat Veleno eine perfekte Rhythmussektion am Start und pendelt nunmehr zwischen Deutschland und Italien hin und her.	BANDA VELENO Current band of Michele Veleno. Once playing guitar at the Lolitas, the former group of Francoise Cactus, he is now back with a mixture of surf, rock’n’roll, soul, and a subtle whiff of Italian folklore. Together with Chris Dietermann on bass and his Italian countryman Nico Lippolis on drums, Veleno has a perfect rhythm section at hand, whilst regularly commuting between Germany and Italy.

	EGILL SAEBJOERNSSON Der isländische Künstler fand 1999 seine zweite Heimat in Berlin. Er arbeitet in verschiedenen Medien und Genres, wie etwa Video, Installation, Musik, Performance; und erforscht neue Wege, diese miteinander zu verbinden. Obwohl seine Aufnahmen nur einen Aspekt seiner zahlreichen künstlerischen Aktivitäten darstellen, ist EGILL SÆBJÖRNSSON ein beeindruckender Performer, Sänger und Songwriter. www.egills.de	EGILL SAEBJOERNSSON The Icelandic artist found his second home base in Berlin in 1999. Ein seltsames Schweben, indifferent, ambivalent, verwunschen, mit quietschigem Glamour. Störrische Textfragmente zwitschern durch den Sound in einer äußerst beschwingten Klangkultur.
